Figurative Cat’s Face Solid Brass Pin Dish | Mid Twentieth Century
An outstanding example of brassware that is both beautiful and functional. Superbly sculpted and full of detail, this useful dish is the perfect home for your keys or for other small and elusive items needing a safe place to rest, although its quality is so fine that it would equally make a great decorative piece if displayed in a stand. The casting of a feline face is remarkably crisp and characterful for such a solid little object.
It is ready for daily use or treasured display, having undergone a deep clean with an electrolytic plate and a careful re-polishing. A good degree of rich patina has been retained to enhance the fine detail of the casting.
Approximate Dimensions: 9.7cm x 11.7cm (at the longest/widest point)
Condition Report: In excellent vintage condition with a warm, deep patina. There is a single tiny pin-prick sized hole about 1cm below one of the eyes, which is unnoticeable without very close inspection; this is from the casting process rather than being later damage.
