‘I Love My Cat’ by Anne Moskwa | Ink & Watercolour

This is an innovative and understated piece from Krakow-based artist Anne Moskwa. From a distance this appears to be a simple sketch of a feline form in black ink with a blue/grey wash. As you draw closer, though, the reason for the title of the work becomes clear, as you see the phrase “I love my cat” worked in to the cat’s coat in tiny script and repeated dozens of times.

Condition Report: An original artwork in excellent condition. Very slight cockling of the paper, as can be common in watercolour works, but should lie fully flat once in a frame due to the pressure of the glass and backing board.
