Description

Hand-Painted Lidded Trinket Pot | Quail Pottery

Quail Pottery, based in the English Midlands, is a company well known for its hand-painted ceramic ornaments and tableware and has built up a loyal following of collectors. We believe this trinket pot to be one of their earlier designs, dating probably to the late twentieth century and out of production for some time.

The lid decoration depicts a very happy-looking cat in a country scene, with roses in the foreground and trees, clouds, and birds behind. The understated blue and white colouring evokes historic English and Chinese ceramic styles, and the pot is finished with a high-gloss glaze.

The lid lifts to reveal a useful depth of storage space for small jewellery or other items.

Bears the distinctive Quail Q mark on the base of the pot.

Approximate Dimensions:

Height (including lid): 5cm
Depth of pot body: 2.5cm
Diameter: 6.5cm

Condition Report: In excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks or damage to the glaze visible on either the pot body or the lid. Lid fits quite loosely but this is the nature of the production rather than a flaw.
